Born on November 23, 1992, in Stockholm, Sweden, Gabriel Landeskog is a Swedish professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League.

He was selected second overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by Colorado.

In December 2009 Landeskog was left off Sweden’s roster for the 2010 World Junior Championships.

His rise was rewarded the following season as he was named as an alternate captain at the 2011 World Junior Championships.

However, he only played one game before he was sidelined with a high ankle sprain.

Landeskog was one of 35 players invited in July 2013 to the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation’s Orientation Camp for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

He was later included in the final squad and helped Sweden claim a Silver medal after defending champions Canada 3–0.

Gabriel’s father Tony Landeskog is a retired hockey player born on August 5, 1958, he is Swedish and played for IFK Lidingö from 1973-1987.

Tony was a one-time Swedish Elite League defenceman. He used to play for the Swedish national team.

He encouraged his son’s love for the game of ice hockey as he supported him to play physical sports.

Tony has been retired for a while now and is currently working in the Insurance business.

Cecelia Landeskog

Cecelia Landeskog is the mother of Gabriel Landeskog and wife of Tony Landeskog, she has three kids and she is 61years old.

Cecilia Landeskog is a chef and instructor at the largest culinary school in Landeskog’s hometown of Stockholm, Sweden.

She teaches high school students everything from food preparation to hygiene in the kitchen. She also oversees her students as they cook hot meals for the entire school.

Gabriel once described his mom’s cooking saying “everything she whips up in the kitchen turns out to be magical”,in a interview,Gabriel explains that he has a great relationship with his mother saying.

“Every time we see each other we certainly make the days and the moments count,” Landeskog says.

“She’s made me into the man I am today and she’s taught me a lot of things. Once you grow older, it becomes more of a friendship than a mother-son [relationship]. We have a lot in common and she teaches me, still to this day, about life in general – about her experience that she can pass on,” the Swedish ice hockey player added.
