Vanessa Feltz has announced her departure from BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio London with tears in her eyes.
Vanessa Feltz, 60, will be leaving her job as the presenter of the Breakfast Show, which is broadcast on both channels in August. Vanessa has hosted shows on Radio London for almost 20 years, with her contribution to the Radio 2 family counting to 12 years.
Breaking the news to her listeners this morning, Vanessa in tears said: “Today, there is no jolly good fellow because I have something to tell you. ‘I know that you already know that I love you, so you will know it is not that.” Vanessa broke into tears and reached for a tissue to wipe her tears.
In a statement, she confirmed her departure adding that she loved every moment on the network.
“ve loved every moment with my Radio 2 ‘Early Birds’ and will miss my Lovely Listeners, Jolly Good Fellows and beloved friends and colleagues at Radio 2 with all my heart. However, after almost 12 blissful years, I now need to step down to catch up on a much needed decade’s deficit of beauty sleep!”
“It’s been an honour and privilege to be the Breakfast voice of BBC Radio London for 20 years and although I’m leaving the show, I’ll continue to expect hugs from my lovely listeners when I see them on the streets of London!”
