Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has called on Ghanaian football lovers to exercise patience over the announcement of the contract details of the Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager was named as the new head coach of the Ghana men’s senior national team in February.
He replaces Borussia Dortmund talents development coach Otto Addo who resigned following the nation’s early exit from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Although the country’s football governing body has confirmed Hughton’s appointment, it is yet to disclose the details of his contract.
In light of the development, Mr. Fianoo has called for cool heads to prevail assuring that the GFA will in due course announce the details of the coach’s contract.
He said in an interview with Adom TV that he has a challenge with the decision but he is convinced the details of the coach’s contract will be revealed soon.
Fianoo went on to add that because Hughton is yet to be unveiled as the head coach of the team he will plead for all interested parties to wait on the GFA to provide the requested details.
The former Newcastle United manager will be assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani.
His first match in charge of the Black Stars will be the two-legged AFCON 2023 qualifiers against Angola.
