Ghana FA Veep Mark Addo Chairs Committee To Look For New Black Stars Coach
The Ghana Football Association Executive Council has appointed Vice President Mark Addo to chair the committee mandated to appoint a new head coach for the Black Stars and his deputies.
The Committee has been mandated to appoint a new coach in the next 72 hours after Charles Kwabla Akonnor and his deputies were sacked on Monday.
CK Akonnor was sacked together with David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars following the Black Stars uninspiring performances in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.
Akonnor’s team managed only one goal in his last four games in charge.
Against South Africa which now happens to be his last job his team failed to hit a shot on target.
The former Black Stars captain during his time has handed calls up to over 150 players.
CK supervised 11 games, winning four, lost five and draw two games (W4 D2 L5)
Akonnor has a winning percentage of 40 out of 10 games he supervised as head coach.
Mark Addo will lead the three member committee that has been formed by the Executive Council to find a new head coach and assistants in the next 72 hours.
