On Monday 27 March, Angola and Ghana will come up against each other in a bid to secure qualifications for the 2023 AFCON tournament.
The Palancas Negras fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Ghana’s late win over Angola on Thursday is its first win since the 2023 World Cup last group match defeat against Uruguay.
Striker Antoine Semenyo of AFC Bournemouth came off the bench to secure all three points for the Black Stars, setting Chris Hughton’s reign on a winning note.
The Black Stars are now three points clear at the top of their group, with Monday’s opponent in second place. Ghana will book a place at the 2023 AFCON to be held in Ivory Coast if they beat Angola away tomorrow.
Unfortunately, the Black Stars will miss captain Andre Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, and Denis Odoi through injuries.
Ghana faces a daunting task in Luanda tomorrow and will be hoping for its attacking players to be effective in front of the goal.
