Ghana Striker Inaki Williams’ Goal Disallowed As Athletic Bilbao Lose To Barcelona

Black Stars striker, Inaki Williams featured for Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night when his team took on Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.

The striker began the match for his side in the Round 25 match of the ongoing Spanish top-flight league season.

Inaki Williams proved to be a nuisance for the defenders of Barcelona, playing up top as the lead striker for his team on the day.

Barcelona took the lead in a hard-fought battle on the pitch in the first half from a Raphinha strike.

With Athletic Bilbao seeking to restore parity and Barcelona striving to prevent that, the second half became a cagey affair.

Athletic Bilbao had the upper hand in the exchanges and came closest to scoring.

Their efforts seemed to have borne fruit in the 88th minute when Inaki William hit the back of the net with a thumping effort.

It was not to be, because the goal was disallowed after a VAR verification which ruled that there was a handful in the buildup to the goal.

Eventually, Barcelona secured the three points with a narrow 1-0 win.
