Ghana international Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has revealed that his mother had to insist he chooses between athletic and football as a child.
Kyereh stated that he had thought of combining both sports whiles growing up but the stress of juggling both led him to choose football.
He said that whiles growing up in the German village of Braunschweig, he began playing football and athletics. He said athletics and football were his passion as a young man but he particularly had fun playing football.
According to the midfielder, his mother became stretched and overwhelmed with taking him to and from both sports centers and asked him to choose one on which he would want to concentrate.
He also revealed that he did a lot of fun stuff and at one time played basketball with his friends like Dennis Schröder in Braunschweig. He would usually kick the basketball into the rim during practice, so he became to be known as Kofi the footballer.
Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has earned a move from St. Pauli to Freiburg.
