Her publicist Roger Neal who announced her death said ” died Thursday afternoon at home in Los Angeles, with her family around her”.
Tenuta became recognized nationally in the United States in an HBO special titled “On Location: Women of the Night,” which featured Ellen DeGeneres and Paula Poundstone.
Tenuta was a trailblazing comedian for women in standup comedy.
She died of ovarian cancer on Thursday 6 October 2022.
