Coach Karim Zito of Dreams Football Club has lent his support to Kwesi Appiah’s bid to return to the helm of affairs of the senior men’s national team of Ghana for a third stint.
Kwesi Appiah has confirmed reports that he has applied for the Black Stars coaching job.
Ghana’s national team has been without a substantive head coach since December last year after Otto Addo resigned following what many Ghanaians have described as the team’s poor performance at the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars finished at the bottom of their group with three points, recorded a win and two defeats.
Since his confirmation of having applied for the coaching job, Kwesi Appiah has received a lot backlash, but coach Zito has expressed his support for the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender.
Coach says that he sees nothing wrong with Appiah seeking to head the Black Stars for a third time because he has been in the position before and knows what it takes to handle a team like the Black Stars.
According to him, there is nothing wrong with Appiah seeking to be the head coach for the third time.
Meanwhile, several media outlets are reporting that Black Stars technical advisor, Chris Hughton has been handed the Black Stars coaching job.
