American singer and songwriter, Toby Keith, has revealed in a social media post that he is currently battling stomach cancer since fall last year.
The singer in an Instagram post revealed that he has spent the last 6 months on treatment and surgery. He added that he is going to take some time to recover and relax, assuring his fans that he will be back very soon.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later…”
Though not explicitly stated in the post, Toby’s publicist has revealed that the singer will not be performing on gigs for now. The singer was scheduled to begin his Country Comes to Town tour this Friday in Wheaton, Illinois.
