AFCON 2021: Ghana Taste Defeat In Their Opening Game Against Morocco

The Ghana Black Stars has tasted defeat in their first African cup of nations opening game against Morocco in Yaoundé, Cameroon, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

Ghana lost to Morocco 1-0 after the Atlas Lions scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Ghana now has two games to play, Gabon, Friday, January 14, and Comoros, Tuesday, January 18, in the group stage at 7PM in the two games.

Before the game, many underrated the Black Stars, as they see them as underdogs. Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac and captain Andre Ayew assured to prove doubters wrong, however they failed to do so.

The Black Stars are seeking to end their 40 years AFCON drought by winning their 5th trophy, after winning their last trophy in 1982 in Libya.

Ghana has been to finals on three times after their last trophy, losing to the Ivory Coast on penalties in 1992 and 2015 and were beaten 1-0 by Egypt in Angola 2010.
