Amber Gill Admits Social Media Fame Triggered Mental Health Battle

Amber Gill of Love Island fame has revealed that social media fame and validation seeking on her part did her dirty and landed her in a mental health battle.

Amber Gill, 25, entered into the spotlights after taking home the top prize in season five of the ITV2 dating competition. She won over the public’s affections with her quick wit and relationship with rugby player and aspiring lawyer Greg O’Shea. However, their love journey ended shortly after the show’s conclusion.

Speaking about her decision to join Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Gill revealed that it was important for her as it helped her “into a better headspace”.

“Before I went in, I wasn’t in a very good mental headspace and that was the tipping scale on whether I should do it or not. I’m so glad I did because it kick-started me getting into a better headspace.

“I believe in myself to the very end to do everything, but before this experience, I really lost that and I lost my way a little bit, so I was in two minds whether to do it or not, but then I did it, and when I came out of the other side, I was completely different,” she told OK!
