The Ghana Football Association has snubbed South Africa Football Association who wrote to them, requesting a match friendly match between the Black Stars and the Bafana Bafana.
Head coach Hugo Broos appreciates the competitiveness of the Black Stars and wants his side to once again test themselves against the four-time African champions.
However, the Ghana FA has snubbed their proposal as they are currently in talks with either Egypt or Sudan for a pre-2021 Africa Cup of Nations friendly.
The Black Stars are expected to start the camping process on the outskirts of Doha, Qatar next week to get ready for the continental showcase in Cameroon in January.
The four-time African champions will take on African champions Algeria in their camp of training in Gulf.
Ghana FA spokesperson Henry Asante Twum has made public plans to involve either record holders Egypt as well as Sudan in an AFCON-preliminary friendly.
“Black stars management committee are in talks with either Egypt or Sudan for a friendly game even though they have already arranged the Algeria friendly and black Stars provisional squad will be out by next week.” Asante Twum told Kumasi-based Light FM on Saturday.
The match was a part of the preparations for the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations next month in Cameroon.
Algeria is unbeaten so far in 33 matches across all competitions. They are clear favourites to retain their title when the tournament kicks off in January.
The last time the teams met Black Stars as well as the Fennec Foxes was in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where Ghana defeated them 1-0.
The legendary striker Asamoah Gyan scored the winner of the match in the final minutes of the game.
