While discussing her newest documentary, Vicky Pattison: My Dad, Alcohol, and Me, with TV viewers, Vicky Pattison had to fight to contain her tears.
The 34-year-old Geordie Shore star made an appearance tonight on The One Show and gave a candid interview in which she talked about her relationship with alcohol and her father as well as her own battles with addiction.
She discussed how creating the documentary was a challenging but rewarding process with hosts Alex Scott and Ronan Keating.
“I think when you’re opening up and being really vulnerable, you have to be in a really strong place mentally, and over the years I haven’t been. I’ve had my own demons, a complicated relationship with alcohol – [I didn’t have] a very grounded personal life,” Pattison said.
Vicky remained open and honest when asked about her connection with her father, and had to be consoled by Carol Kirkwood as she struggled to hold back her tears.
“I’m 35 this year. That was exactly when my dad started to lose his battle with his addiction. I was terrified. I couldn’t get it out of my mind that this year it was all going to unravel, no matter how I tried – no matter how many yoga retreats or sober Octobers I did, I was going to end up the same,” she admitted.
